In language arts and writing, we are comparing characters in a story.  We are writing about what is alike about the characters and what is different.  When reading with your children at home, ask your children questions about the characters in the story.  See if your child can tell you the similarities and differences in the characters

Students who work with Ms. McPherson received new word flashcards this week.  Please study five cards at a time until your child has mastered the words and then add five more words.

Enjoy your weekend.

Happy New Year!

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a wonderful winter break and has been able to thaw out from all of our winter weather. I am so excited to back into the routine and continue where we left off in December!
We have so much to learn and so many fun things coming up in 2017! Here are a few things we will be working in in the next week: Reading: identifying who is telling the story and how we know, writing: understanding fact and opinion and then using our writing to share our opinions, math: representing numbers using tens and ones, and social studies: identifying and locating continents and how they relate to where we live.
As you can see we are busy, busy, busy!

Another note is that report cards go home today! Please sign the evenlope and return it in your child's folder. The copy of the report card is for you to keep. :)

As always, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns!
